Abstract

Blockchain technology has evolved into a potential solution to improve data security and protect user privacy in various digital sectors. This article aims to explore the application of blockchain in web security, focusing on its effectiveness, challenges, and opportunities. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, the study collected data from in-depth interviews, open-ended questionnaires, as well as secondary documentation from organizations that have implemented blockchain. The results show that blockchain can strengthen data security through decentralized consensus and manipulation-resistant encryption techniques, which are crucial in preventing unauthorized access and data fraud. However, there are challenges in maintaining user privacy due to the transparent nature of the blockchain which allows public access to transactions. The use of advanced encryption technologies such as Zero-Knowledge Proof and Homomorphic Encryption is recommended to optimize user privacy. The implementation of blockchain in the financial and healthcare sectors shows a positive impact in maintaining data integrity and reducing the risk of breaches. The study concludes that blockchain has great potential to be widely applied as a digital data security base, but further development is needed in encryption technology to ensure more comprehensive protection of user privacy. These findings are expected to be the foundation for the development of more effective blockchain-based data security policies in the future
