The security of user data in e-commerce platforms in ASEAN has become a crucial issue in the midst of the rapid development of the digital economy. The study aims to identify data privacy challenges and analyze the effectiveness of end-to-end encryption (E2EE) as a solution to improve user data protection. Descriptive quantitative research methods are used by collecting data from various e-commerce platforms and users in ASEAN countries. The results show that E2EE implementation has been shown to reduce the incidence of data breaches by up to 60% in the last five years, with a significant increase in user trust levels in platforms implementing E2EE. However, the implementation of E2EE in the ASEAN region still faces obstacles, such as differences in regulations between countries and limited infrastructure, which lead to gaps in the adoption of this technology in the region. Therefore, consistent regional policy harmonization and the provision of incentives for the implementation of E2EE on e-commerce platforms are urgently needed. The findings of this study make an important contribution to the development of data privacy policies and raise awareness of the importance of encryption technology in protecting user data in the e-commerce sector. This recommendation is expected to support the development of a safe and reliable digital economy in ASEAN
